2020 Events Schedule

NOVEMBER 14th

• 2020 Annual Report and Jam Session- Online Event on Metis Region 6  Facebook page, 7-9pm
• Fort Vermilion Métis Local 74 logo contest with a $100 prize to winner. Submission deadline is November 19th.
• Honouring our Elders through storytelling and sharing knowledge; one elder will be featured virtually on Fort Vermilion Local 74 Facebook page per day.
• Partnership with  Fort Vermilion School Division to educate and share Métis culture and traditions with Staff & students. Metis Pride project with Metis Local 74; asking local citizens to send us their videos and/or pictures with a one-word statement that describes what being Métis means to them. Photos/Videos will be compiled into a montage that will be posted on the Facebook page.

NOVEMBER 16th

• Flag Raising & Metis Awareness Kits and PPE Distribution (masks, gloves, hand sanitizer) at traffic circle downtown Peace River, 10:00am
• Manning Metis Local Open house with door prizes refreshments 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Manning Adult Learning Centre located at 112 2 Ave SW Manning AB
• Grande Prairie Local 1990 Flag Raising at City Hall with Mayor Bill Given, President Angie Carer and Local Board Members. Closed Event.

NOVEMBER 18th

• Manning Metis Local Stew and Bannock, Beading with Della Wednesday 12:00pm-4:00pm. 14 person limit. Registration required for beading. Contact Georgina @780 836-4323. All COVID-19 health guidelines implemented.
